Did you know that at least 400 amputations each day are due to advanced vascular disease?

New embargoed survey results show nearly one in three Americans at the highest risk for developing blood vessel (vascular) diseases have not heard of any of the most common conditions - conditions that can lead to heart attack, stroke, amputation, and even death. The news is under embargo until Wednesday, October 23 at 8:00 am ET.

This comes at a time when more than 100 million people in the U.S. are reaching an age associated with a high risk of vascular diseases, putting them at risk of mis- or underdiagnosis.

On October 23, the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) will be launching a patient awareness campaign including a digital toolkit to educate people about vascular disease, explainer videos, and Strong Vessel Score checklist to bring to their doctor.

I can offer interviews with the following doctors who can share real-world advice about the early warning signs for these conditions and why vascular health is vital at every stage of life:

• Dr. William Shutze, Vascular Surgeon, Texas Vascular Associates
• Dr. Anahita Dua, Vascular Surgeon, Massachusetts General Hospital
• Dr. Matt Eagleton, Vascular Surgeon, Massachusetts General Hospital, President of the Society for Vascular Surgery

Would you be interested in learning more? Once you’ve agreed upon the embargo, I can share additional details about the survey results and arrange an interview.

Thank you,
Kennedy
